"If anyone had a heart
They wouldn't turn around & break it
And if anyone played a part
They wouldn't turn around & fake it"

Cool. Wonder if it'll have the studio version of 'The Biggest, Loudest, Hairiest Group Of All' that was recorded at the same time as 'Dixieland And Dixie'?

This is good news, now I have this to look forward to along with new Cure, Depeche Mode, and Siouxsie and the Banshees remastered albums.

Tower has this listed as a release date of June 13th.
Amazon has June 15th as the street date.
But Rhino http://www.rhino.com/store/upcoming.lasso doesn't have it listed at all. . .so I'm not going to hold my breath.

As an aside, it's odd, isn't it, how John and Lou's early solo albums seem to kind of mirror each other:

1. Low-key, surprisingly conventional rock album - Lou Reed / Vintage Violence

2. Accomplished, beautifully produced, relatively poppy - Transformer / Paris 1919

3. Dark and evil - Berlin / Fear

4. Stodgy, decadent rock - Sally Can't Dance / Slow Dazzle

On the other hand, much like The Gift and Booker T, there are of course as many differences as there are similarities!

Happy to have it (and I'm not doing much double dipping these days), but it seems strange that "Dixie and Dixieland" isn't on there - yeah, I know most of us probably have it already on the Rhino compilation, but it seems it would be a no-brainer as a bonus track nonetheless.

Speaking of the Rhino releases, how come these get so quickly unavailable? The John Cale releases at least. I can't find MFANS and the Seducing Down The Door compilation anywhere but on eBay. Is it because of a low circulation, bad distribution or just lack of interest?

It's probably because they're a relatively small company, and once they've gone through the X-thousands of copies they manufacture, they figure there's not enough potential sales left to have another pressing made.

Just a guess.
