First album that receives 10 votes gets transferred.
I've got a horrible feeling that even waiting for just 10 votes for the same one may take some time at this speed!

Perhaps you should just decide mg196? I'm sure some people will complain which ever you'd pick but everybody has been given the chance to vote and if they don't...tough!!

I've not actually heard ANY of those bootlegs but I've looked into all of them now and they all seem fine to me. :)

No way, dude! I'll let the people pick it out. If I have to wait a week, that's cool with me. I have all of them in their previously circulated form already...lets see what the public demands!

Sounds good to me. Since I don't have a preference, I voted for And So On to help you out. 8-)

"And So On" got my vote as well. It's actually sitting up in my loft somewhere, along with "Etc" and "Everything You've Ever Heard About". Not having a turntable anymore, I would love the chance to listen to it again.

Can I just echo Evolution One when they say that they feel a bit out of their depth here sometimes. I check this forum out everyday and learn a lot from it. However, I only got into collecting VU bootlegs again last year. The Velvets were a way of life for me for many years, but the number of bootlegs could be counted on the fingers of one hand and CD's hadn't even been invented. It will take me a while to catch up. Please be patient.

Also, I don't have the ability to file share and that ties my hands a bit.

Anyway, Happy New Year to all 8-)

If mg196 digitises 'And So On' then I'll agree to do 'NYC' to share the work. I'm not sure how good the sound quality of the NYC LP actually is but this may also help someone put together the rough mixes of the '4th' album as per the other current thread.

I can't believe that so few votes have been cast for this! And that the most any album could draw was 7. Does everyone have "And So On" and the others already? Or did the world just nod off at Christmas? 8-)

What needs to be upgraded re the "Stockholm 74" LP? I dont have that one on vinyl but I do have the "Whatever Happened To Dick And Steve" LP and it cant really be beat, quality-wise. Is the "Stockholm 74" version significantly poorer quality?

I assumed that Groovy's post rendered the whole idea obsolete (with respect to any digitisation of VU vinyl).

Well, the point of me offering this is to provide a new transfer, using a freshly washed LP with a new Audio Technica cartridge, through a Technics SL-D3, through a Pioneer SX-1050.

But if the idea of providing a different transfer is obsolete, then just junk the idea I guess.
