Just got issue #60 of the Ugly Things mag with an INSANE 23-pages feature by Phil Milstein on Pickwick and the first meeting of Lou Reed & John Cale.

I just got my copy in the post and I'm only four pages into the feature, but I already think it's a masterpiece of journalism and certainly the best VU related article I've read in a very, very long time. It's so well researched and intricate, it's completely rivetting. I'm astonished at the detail. There's so many different voices quoted, many of which I'm previously unaware of. A door has opened.....
any sounds that we feel would detract from the performance has been left in place

I'm really glad you like it. I'd like to point out one typographical error that materially changes the meaning of the statement: the quote at the top of the middle column on pg. 13 was said by Terry Philips, not Tony Conrad. Oopsie …
