Ugly Things #60

Post by falconwhit »

Just got issue #60 of the Ugly Things mag with an INSANE 23-pages feature by Phil Milstein on Pickwick and the first meeting of Lou Reed & John Cale.
Highly recommended to all!

Very cool. Also, the cover of the magazine is a parody of/inspired by the Soundsville album.

I just got my copy in the post and I'm only four pages into the feature, but I already think it's a masterpiece of journalism and certainly the best VU related article I've read in a very, very long time. It's so well researched and intricate, it's completely rivetting. I'm astonished at the detail. There's so many different voices quoted, many of which I'm previously unaware of. A door has opened.....

Waiting for my copy. I have been purchasing this mag for many years, and it's always been a top class publication.

I'm really glad you like it. I'd like to point out one typographical error that materially changes the meaning of the statement: the quote at the top of the middle column on pg. 13 was said by Terry Philips, not Tony Conrad. Oopsie …
