The VU did indeed have a few dedicated fans in the UK but they were probably very disappointed when they went to see the "Velveteens" on the 71 and 72 UK tours.
Many of the 71/72 dates and ad scans on Olivier's site came from cuttings I have - most of them are from Disc, Sounds or Record Mirror. I dont think I have any MM cuttings that old, so this is new info (for me anyway!)
It looks to me as if the 2nd ad features part of the poster which was produced for the Imperial College show.
