Here is what Oliver's site has to say about this disc:

I think it was originally published in the September 8, 1970 issue of Fusion, "Kansas City in the Summertime" by Tom Mancuso.lurid_uk wrote:Does anyone know where this pic was originally published? I'm thinking it might have been in a 1969 issue of Fusion, but not sure. I have the 1970 (?) Fusion which has the long interview with Sterling, but I'm pretty sure it's not in that one.
The "Sterling Morrison Interview" was in the March 6, 1970 issue (No. 28), which also had one shot by Roswell Angier - the one you can see in "Up-tight - The Velvet Underground Story" (p.114). It also offers photos by Ronn Campisi and Ken Greenberg.

hi Olivier thanks for that. I submitted that last post from work and all my mags/files etc are at home so I couldn't confirm the actual dates. I dont have a copy of the 9/70 Fusion - are there any other obscure pics in it?

I've not checked ebay recently but I suspect the vendor of this 45 is going to find no-one wants it at that price....

The September 1970 Fusion article has another photo by Roswell Angier (see below) and one by Ronn Campisi -- an 'outtake' from the series available in "Up-tight" book (p. 105-109), supposedly shot in 1969 at the Boston Tea Party. It looks like one of these Campisi photos was used as back cover for the first eponymous Lou Reed solo album.lurid_uk wrote:I dont have a copy of the 9/70 Fusion - are there any other obscure pics in it?

there's more at http://www.corbis.com. just search for 'velvet underground.' I believe those were taken March-ish 1969 in Boston.
