Never heard of a date in Kansas. And, yes, It's probably just a rehash of the Columbus show from November 4. Here's what is mentioned on Oliver's site regarding this:

"Tape: audience, 105 mins. Taped by Dick Felton. It also circulates under false pretenses as "Lawrence, Kansas, 1966" or "Cleveland, 4/11/66". The best source is the Move Back! 2-CD set which offers an unedited version of this legendary recording. Some versions of that tape have one minute edited out in the middle of Waiting For The Man. Also at the end of that song you can hear two barkings which are not on the original version. My opinion is that this version was dubbed "through the air" with a microphone in front of a speaker playing the original tape with some bonus noises: the barking dog...

November 4 setlist:

1. Melody Laughter (28:26)
2. Femme Fatale (3:43)
3. Venus In Furs (4:53)
4. The Black Angel's Death Song (5:28)
5. All Tomorrow's Parties (7:25)
6. I'm Waiting For The Man (4:32)
7. Heroin (8:57)
8. Run Run Run (8:51)
9. The Nothing Song (32:00)

I'm not sure what EPI Improvisation might be.

Missed that on Olivier's site, I guess that's it then. Thanks.

How is the sound quality on some of these recordings? I know the Quine Tapes don't sound too fantastic sound wise.

Well, we're talking about BOOTLEG recordings here. These shows were taped, for the most part, "under the table" so to speak. These are NOT official recordings. They are not PROFESSIONALLY done. So the sound quality is not going to be "too fantastic sound wise". But, in my opinion, they are better than not having them at all. Some of them (Quine Tapes, Valleydale Ballroom, First Night) are really pretty good as far as the sound goes. Others, (Cleveland Music Hall, Paramount Theater) are really not very good.

But again, I still like listening to them for the variations they put into each song each time they played. I mean, I've got 16 bootleg versions of Sister Ray and each one is different. It's almost like they're 16 different songs. The lyrics are the same, but the musical treatment is VERY different.

So, quality is in the ear of the listener. All I can say is I'm glad we have as much as we do have. I wish there was more available. I want all I can get my hands on regardless of the quality.

The 12 min min version of Melody Laughter on the Peel Slowly set is from the Coloumbus tape, so the original is pretty good quality. It was slated for official release in the Bootleg Series, before that imploded...
