Here's something that my sister & I discussed the other day on MSN Messenger that I think might be worth opening up for a fun debate:
Which VU song would be suitable to play for the upcoming festivities?
It's a toughie, isn't it? They didn't record an Xmas song (natch) or even one that's Yuletide related and their canon doesn't exactly inspire the sort of mood most of us look for at this time. So what would you choose if you had to?
My nomination - Another View's 'Ride Into The Sun'. Although, it's a 'summer song' it has just the right sentimental mood for this time.
Any other nominations?

I always considered "Sister Ray" a pretty accurate depiction of our office's traditional Xmas bash...jimjim wrote:Which VU song would be suitable to play for the upcoming festivities?

Two that come to mind are both Lou songs - Kicks when he calls his Pusher "Santa Claus." At least I'm assuming that's who he calls that.
The other is All Through The Night when he mentions the line 'If Xmas comes only once a year why can't anybody shed just one tear for things that don't happen . . ."
Can't think of any songs were Lou mentions holiday off the top of my head. You know the heated debate about Happy Holidays???
