Found a Minty VU and Nico Stereo today!
Found a Minty VU and Nico Stereo today!
Pretty psyched about this. This record looks untouched. There is not a hairline on the vinyl and the jacket is spotless with the banana completely intact. I am pretty darn psyched about this. Now I did pay 200 for it but in this condition I feel that was a good deal. It is the airbrushed copy. Sorry i had to share my joy where people I know would appreciate it. I will try and post some pics

Congratulations for this nice find!

Congrats! Owning the original LPs is rather passed over in our digital age & with all the cracking re-issues of the last few yrs it would suggest that ancient vinyl is redundant. But no prices are always creeping upwards and an excellent sleeve and vinyl will always provide much pleasure and you're probably safe in the knowledge that you can get your money back on it. Is it just me but i rather like the smell from 60s records - maybe its the result of years of hash and patchouli oils!
I try and keep a tab on prices and two items would seem good buys at the moment - a good condition, black back-stickered Mono LPs - they are surprisingly rare in clean condition. Also early WL/WHs with a minty sleeve (like the Banana it was difficult to keep clean unless stored carefully) with prices rising quite a bit recently.
Whereas the boots previously fetched very good prices with the advent of digital copying, file sharing and home laser printing you are able to produce an excellent copy very easily and prices now reflect that. However you cannot 'copy' an original LP and sleeve - they were limited and with the benefit of iconic Warhol 'art' they have become very attractive objects in their own right.
