New boot cd?

Post by Nuno »

Hi everybody,

Has anybody heard about a new 3cd set on a label called Nothing Songs? I've seen it advertised elsewhere and the back cover has very exciting info....is it true though? Aparently it is limited, 500 copies...

oh, that is quite interesting. but yeah, the big question is if it's really the acetate version. would have been easy for them to just grab a crackly mono LP, re-arrange/remove the right tracks and call it the acetate. but, who knows? if it's true and this starts circulating, bet that guy wishes he'd gotten off his ass and sold the acetate earlier (or did he sell it and this is the product?). Speaking of that, I read where he had sent around a few CD-Rs to magazines and such. He said he put his voice every so many seconds saying not to copy or whatever. But I always wondered if he actually talked over the music or if he just inserted his voice and therefore it could be easily removed with audio software. If so, that could be where this came from. Or knowing bootlegers, even if he was talking over it, they'd still use it. And I'd like to hear it, just to see what those 3 different takes sound like, but it wouldn't be much of a pleasant listen (but how many of these boot CDs are?) nor would I wanna pay anything for it.

I did a quick search on google and found this place offering it for about $70, if you're feeling lucky. I'm not.

Used one of the free online translators for the portion in Japanese and although it's really not any clearer, it does say this is a 4 disc set with one being a DVD-R of Bataclan. Can't tell if it's claiming to be the full show or not. Here's the translation...

VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO/ULTIMATE MONO & ACETATES ALBUM = Only by 100 limitation first time sets 50826 8800Y/9240Y (w/tax) (3CD+1DVDR) it is whose recently release of the rare item is little, but coming here, the ultimate most important item is appearance! ! ! The revolutionary CD set where mono mixed everything other than the first album which proper release is done and, and the member who is buried to the shade of album release it reached and did not remain and recorded from the production stage which cannot do to hear. First from the board which carries back at the time of recording of first. Mixed balance of first already the waist passes through those tracks/trucks where that way, performance is different, song well. We had abandoned that first neighborhood the sound source where it is left is little, not to mention out and the like of the album it probably is not possible to hear absolutely, but in a certain place. Don't you think? certain it is. That introduction of the heroin of 1 number started, it is it is already it is the gooseflesh. And from first sentence. The lyric is different. In addition the European sun and the like includes also of that long latter half, the difference. . The tear losing, you cannot hear. Please hear well. Here and there, there is the needle flying from the original master board, but you will abandon that. In plus disk 1 mono version of from first additional recording. Single of first it meaning that and mix are different very is famous, but this is being defeated recording from limited edition release of recent years. Continuing, as for disk 2 with the US board which is second with only extremely small amount at direct mastering recording all tune from the monaural mixed board which is pressed. Originally, when sound is bad, it is second of reputation with ancient and modern east west, but speaking clearly, mono mix is good, is. Is extinguished with such as sister ray the drum and the like of the Mho phosphorus which clearing with mix, - something detailed thing does very with . Of course, clearing the vocal of mono only mix you feature. There is also a mono UK board and the Canadian board etc. of second, but after all this US original is highest. Please hear. Consequently from second from original board all the tune recording. And it is third. When the home was rearranged the occasion where some days ago Stirling Morrison dies, you say to be that it forced and (the closet) from came out from the board of the framework being attached with Yule's Doug offer recording. As for this board Stirling Morrison for practicing the chorus cutting in the middle of recording, being something which is carried back, is not about first, is, but whether Akira another which begins the vocal and the chorus, the tear overflows with with the mix difference it is the track/truck where without aim. Especially that you say whether and the like of whose is superexcellent it is possible to hear. Please hear well. And it adds and 2 tunes from of EP which is third only official where LP does not exist disk 2 is end with recording. By the way, mono mix of recording time is different from the album, it is completely another mix. Continuing, disk 3 proper thing is low dead. Recently release was done officially from various out ones and etc., but this the fact that release it is not possible is the hand falling. Original monaural mix of the low dead which is thought that there is no expectation of existing age in this board, is recorded with full LP version. That this just several dozen from the board which it is tested is pressed will be recorded to direct at that time as a one for promotion to major AM radio bureau, furthermore this abnormal play is the stereo -> in the day when it comes with the original mix which is not mono conversion as for already crying, stopping, probably will hear. The excessive decoration by Yule Doug is held down, tight mix of the vocal subject which centers the rhythm in order to inquire about the low dead of the true velvet, is impression. When with the album you inquire about this mix which the breathing and the like where the vocal of which it is difficult to catch is detailed listening exceeds very to real, unintentionally that? difference? With at the extent which is thought. It probably is stereo mix to hear and to compare. By the way this test press board presently only 2 being in the world, because it is not verified with either the fan sight and the like, it is the sound source of own country first release. The , please hear. In plus disk 3 the mono track/truck which was recorded in EP from low dead 2 tune recording. Above it is perfect. The it rusts and is not one of one boards in family, probably will be? It is the large nomination board. Please hear. ! To time to be, only the first limitation 100 set, release with the 4CD case version of 3CD+1DVDR where DVDR of special edition is attached (is the numbering entering). Also contents to be suitable are rare in the good contents of CD. After the velvet dispersing which recently proper release was done and read topic 1972 live in Paris due to , John and which are first . This at that time 5 tunes the television is televised from there, fragmentarily we have arrived 3 tunes among those as a boot leg, but the television program it is round in this board every no cutting recording! The side guitar is scratched with the John part which becomes first appearance with and which are sounded - with 2 people of John's meaning the rough have taken the chorus deeply. Don't you think? contents it is highest. Now one work of all the power pitches which are according to dying/fleeing coming Stirling Morrison and the staff general mobilization which is lifted up to ! Its curious that it refers to a Moe Tucker acetate and an acetate of Sterling Morrison found after his death. Sounds convincing - but good lies are often decorated with such detail. Could it be that these recordings have been found, handed over to universal and then leaked/stolen? Is it all just a beautiful con?

I'm going to have to buy one just to see. It works out at 38 pounds sterling for the 3cd set but I seem to remember it always works out higher than I expect with mr. ohkura in kyoto.

I'll let you know and can always copy to someone when it comes....

Go for it mate...and of course, make sure you share it...if it is THAT acetate!

Mmm, he's advertising that 'Great Banana' set that says its a Chicago Feb 67 date, I bought that yrs ago only to discover its another bloody Live 1969CD!

I would be really suspicious about claims that sources came from a band member, bootleggers are even more aware that with bittorrent and cd burning they are going to have push their CDs even harder for them to sell. We all love a good story and it detracts from a bootleggers poss dodgy connection with a source..
