'Live 1969' on Vinyl

Simple question: is this still being pressed on vinyl somewhere or has the 2LP set gone OOP? Of course I have it on CD but I miss my 1980s copy which I gave away years ago (I know, I know..bad decision). My 40th is coming up and it might be a good gift hint to those who are stuck for something to get me. Still miss the concept of enjoying Side 1 in its all its glory. Not the same on CD when it cuts quickly to the fury of 'Real Good Time Together' after the slow bliss of 'Sweet Jane'.

And yes, I know there are plenty of used copies on E-bay!! It would be nice to get a new one, though!

OK, your request made me curious as to the availability of VU vinyl, so I placed a phone call to my favourite record shop, Bullit Records of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and it yielded this:

The following albums are still in print on vinyl:

• The Velvet Underground and Nico
  White Light/White Heat
  The Velvet Underground (3rd)
  Loaded
  Live at Max's Kansas City
  1969 Live
  VU
  Another View

In short, all of 'em According to Bullit's, Max's and 1969 are US imports, but they are reasonably priced over here (? 19.50 for 1969, ? 12.50 for Max's).

Theres something about that Live 69 that sounds much better on vinyl than the CDs..I have an Italian Mercury 70s copy and although the vinyl isn't the thickest slab it just sounds great. Ahh reminds me of my college days..a beer in one hand, a 'smoke' on the other and What Goes On cranked up on the hi-fi - happy days...

Here's a very cool copy from the 70's or 80's- never played, 2 separate volumes in separate sleeves, "new old stock"

Back when I was a wee lad in high school, I remember taping a copy of "1969 Live " that was missing "Beginning to See the Light" and "Sweet Bonnie Brown/It's Just Too Much". It was definitely the double gatefold on the red Mercury label. Years later, I bought a cassette of that same LP (this was mid-90s) that also did not have those two songs. I wasn't even aware they were part of the LP until I got the CD reissues. I've looked online for any info as to why these two songs were (apparently) taken off and then put back on...and I can't find proof that the LP without them even EXISTS! Every online VU discography lists the LP with the two songs intact, never without them. Did I fall into an alternate reality? Is this what senility feels like? HELP!

The CDs are taken from an LP source at times, I'm told. Thus, the CD sound in greatly inferior, moreso than usual CD inferiority. I'd certainly love a better CD release, maybe something more comprehensive. Love my LPs, though.

I bought this album on cassette in the late 80s and it had a somewhat different track list, too, missing "Sweet Bonnie Brown" (when I saw that title on the CD I thought it had to be a mistake) and one other, I think. One of the more confusing items in the discography. It was actually sold on 2 separate CDs for a long time. The bizarrely awful cover with no information only adds to the mystery.
