Beck to re-record VU & Nico

Free of the limitations of a conventional record contract, Beck has recruited some famous friends to join him for a new project: a Record Club. The Modern Guilt rocker is planning a series of one-day sessions at which he and a crew of collaborators will rerecord classic albums; the songs will be released once a week via his official Website. The singer?s site will experience a complete overhaul to coincide with the Record Club project, which has already lined up MGMT, Devendra Banhart, Jamie Lidell and more.

According to a press release, none of the albums covered will be rehearsed, and the artists involved only have one day to lay down the entire LP. Up first: The Velvet Underground & Nico. Beck?s version of the album?s opening cut ?Sunday Morning? is already making the rounds on the Net after it was distributed as a bonus 7?? with the re-release of his One Foot in the Grave.

He only has "Sunday Morning" up sp far, and here is a link to the video.

It really is a pretty elaborate video and lovely version. Near my top of all VU covers. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album! :D

Where is WL-WH??
I can only see "Waiting for my Man" (Listen to it once and imo it is good idea the way they did it but the final resul is not as good as with "Sunday Morning" - but sure would need more than one look!)

As usual, I hop too quick to post with incorrect or missing details; a friend emailed me with info and I rushed to post before seeing video. Of course it is "Waiting
for my man" not WLWH! (Christ; that isn't even the album they are doing!) :bowdown: :bowdown: I hereby promise to get my facts straight before posting! :bowdown: :bowdown: :bowdown:
