new LOOP download

Post by simonm »

As some of you know I recently got an EX condition Loop flexi (for $22!)
I digitised it over the weekend, and uploaded it to yousendit.com for you to enjoy.

Here's how to get it

"Hello from YouSendIt,

You've got a file called "loop.mp3" (9425 KB) waiting for download. Please click on the following link to retrieve it. The link will expire in 7 days and will be available for a limited number of downloads.

Regular link (for all web browsers):
http://s2.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=9D598 ... 25AD349E73

The YouSendIt Team"

It as 192 kbps mp3 - no complaints about quality please, this is the best I can provide with my old Mac.

The sound quality reflects the thinness of the flexi and the poor sound on the original recording. I did no eq'ing or other manipulations - this is what it sounds like.

This version is 6.41 (the length it needed to be to fit on the end of the Warhol Tapes CD) - the track itself is 6.28, the rest is the locked groove going round and round....

Perhaps someone else can upload it again once the download limit or week are up, or send it to the Yahoo email - didn't think of that before.

This is probably going to be the best version we have unless the master tape turns up somehow - if you like the locked groove and want a longer version for posterity, I have a 9 minute one too.

Thanks, simonm.
Downloading now, will comment later.

Compared to the file at
http://www.ubu.com/
simonm's version is a helluva lot better :-)

Wouldn't mind the longer version though ;-)

Works great, thanks Simon!

I've sent it to the Yahoo mail account, which now puts us 2 mb's above the 100 mb limit. So we can't send or recieve mail to that account anymore, but you can still access and download everything that's already there.

Makes a very nice and appropriate bonus track to the rest of the material.

Good - glad it worked - it occurred to as I was having trouble with the upload (3 attempts) that I could have sent a mono file that would be half the size, but as the 3rd attempt worked I didn't worry - I'll try it and maybe do another yousendit. I don't know how many people want to listen to a locked groove for 2.5 mins, but it's nice to have the option, eh?
