Max's rehearsal - torrent or MP3 download best

Post by simonm »

re: Max's rehearsals - there's a single CD-R that I have with the full Max's rehearsal in pretty good quailty, it's better sound than on the 3xLP set by a long way, and better sounding than the tracks on Flowers Of Evil (sounds like the same quality as Walk & Talk on Evil Mothers...)

Actually the first couple of songs sound crap but it seems like Brigid (or whoever) changed tables or something as it improves as it progresses. Sounds like they're actually in the venue when it's open rehearsing, there's some backchat and background noise and all the tuning up and f***ing around with the break in Head Held High. It's about 40 mins.

I'm busy in the evenings writing up a research project, but I can encode this to 128 kbps and upload it somewhere, in September, or send a CD-R to someone who can torrent it if you think that would be preferable. Vote in the poll to say which would be better for you.

Any idea how the sound compares to the version that was torrented a few months ago?

encode at 192, it better preserves the tracks.

a bitrate of 192 for mp3 (or ogg) would be best for me - I have never succesfully finsihed downloading a torrent on my wind up connection

simonm, I'm in London and would be willing to torrent this at easytree and STG (when it's back up).

Any news on torrenting this?
