Was apparently the quote that John Cale kept repeating when Moe Tucker was invited to play drums for the VU.
Was that from his auto-biography or somewhere else? I've got a point to prove to someone...
"No chicks in the band!"

Re: "No chicks in the band!"
Cale discusses this in his auto biography I believe. Early VU lineups had two crazy chicks before Mo. One woman named Electra, who apparently played the guitar so violently that her hands bled, and another named Darryl (there's a story about someone getting their leg blown off by a shotgun blast from some thug who hung around with her). Needless to say, both were in the band in part by virtue of sleeping with Lou and/or John. Or, as Cale wrote, he and Lou each had "their day in the sun" with these ladies. Maybe that weirdness factor made Cale anti-chick. Good thing for Mo that she looked like a guy!
