Heroin 4:21 edit

Post by marukomu »

Does anyone know if this 4:21 edit of Heroin is available anywhere else, other than this 7"?

Is there a rip of it somewhere online?

Thanks!

That's very interesting. Thank you.

For some strange reason, the front cover and the labels carry the "1969" tag. I have tried to find an explanation, but it can only be a mistake, as the VUs debut album was released in 1967 in Germany, and the timings don't match with the officially released 1969 live versions of those songs.

So, yes, that has to be an edited version of the master of "Heroin". I would like to listen to that too.

Given that this single was released in 1981, I would guess that the album version of the song is simply faded out towards the 4:21 mark. One could achieve the same thing with some software of a volume control, I would think. I'd be surprised if there was any other difference.
