y'all might be interested to read that 1966 drug fueled essay by reed, which i've put up on my art site:

if you're a super fan, you'll scroll down to the bottom at first and listen to the april '68 version of 'heroin' with cale that i added...it's the best recording of the song by a country mile imo, and trounces the original

Thank-you. Agree that the '68 version of Heroin is excellent.

Very interesting read. Is that the Heroin performance from the La Cave 68 show?
