Caught Between the Twisted Stars

Post by alaska »

Hello Everyone,

Long time guest reader, first time registed user and first time posting.

I wanted to express my gratitude for this forum existing since it has provided some of the most relevant and intelligent discussion of the VU on the net.

I just picked up a real deal copy of the Caught Between the Twisted Stars 4cd set, and I was wondering what made this set so special to everyone on the board?

I was highly convinced by many posts from the users here that this was one of the best boots on the market, so I decided to drop the small bundle to pick it up. As it is in transit, I await with baited breath.

Well for one thing, you're getting the best quality version of 'Sweet Sister Ray' - an extraordinarily beautiful jam.

And probably the best packaging for any Velvets bootleg:

4 x cd sleeves very similar to single covers, together with a beautiful case, all using pics which are either v rare or previously unavailable. The sound quality of the recordings is the best available (in my opinion).... and a fantastic selection - obviously put together by a real fan :)

But there are no stars in New York sky, they're all on the ground.

I dont think you ruined anything, i had seen the cover on olivers site before, but those inside scans are keen.

Is the version of the 66 EPI show the best available on this one in your opinion?

Well the screeching at the beginning seems to be in better quality for some reason (much better quality) but I think all the rest is pretty much the same - I dunno I haven't done any kind of analysis....
