Just wondered if anyone could answer a question for me?
I just got hold of a copy of the 26 min version of the "Chic Mystique" instrumental jam from the Dom in April 66. About half way through there's a short break when you can hear somebody talking for a few seconds, then it goes back to the track. Are all copies like this or is mine a slightly duff version?
The quality also seems to be a touch worse than the 4 minute extract that does the rounds - is that usual too?
No, mine has the same problem too. I think its on the original soundtrack.
Should be easy to cut out and stich the remaining bits together.

They wouldn't turn around & break it
And if anyone played a part
They wouldn't turn around & fake it"
Lou Reed, 'Sweet Jane', 1970
Are you talking about the same version that is listed in the "Twisted Stars" collection? I don't remember having such a break on the track from there. But I'll have to go home and listen to it again to make sure.
Actually, I do believe that little bit is on "Twisted Stars," but I'd have to go home and listen myself to be sure.
