How can I polish my banana?

Post by GroovyMusic »

I got my banana today, the only thing is that it has a few small brownish blotches on it.......

is there anyway to give my banana a good polishing?

I'll post a scan in a few days so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.

I don't know if this will help at all, the only thing that comes to mind is take a new, clean pencil eraser and gently rub it over the discoloration. If it's dirt or something, maybe it will lift it off a bit. If it's a soaked-in stain, maybe you can "sand" some of it away by gently rubbing with the eraser.

That's all I got.

Okay, my first impulse is to say, if you're a girl, that you CAN'T... but I'll restrain myself :D

If you're talking about the VU&N banana - don't use a pencil eraser. Go to an art store and get one of those drafting erasers - a little white cloth bag filled with eraser crumbs. This will get the dirt off and shouldn't damage the surface.

Good luck!

I'm not a girl, but can I get one to do it for me?

It's a much, brighter, more vibrant, rich yellow, in real life.

I just hafta get rid of those spots (the light ones, obviously - I realize that the black ones are a part of the artwork :P )...

Knowing a girl, she'd probably try to get it off by rubbing it (she might even use saliva) - that wouldn't be good.

Thanks for your advice guys...those art erasers sound like they might do the trick...I'm going to be very careful of course.

Let me get this straight - you're talking about the GUM-like erasers right?

No, this:

If the link doesn't work, go to dickblick.com and search under "dry cleaning eraser pads". These should be available at your local art/craft store as well.
