"Pale Blue Eyes" is...
...the most beautiful song in the history of rock 'n' roll, IMO. Unbelievable song.
All your children are poor unfortunate victims of lies you believe. A plague upon your ignorance that keeps the young from the truth they deserve.

Yeah, it is beautiful. I don't think it's THE most beautiful song, but it's very beautiful.
I love the little guitar "solo" near the end--it's the icing on top of the cake/it really makes the song.

Don't trust between-song banter by Patti Smith, she's completely bonkers.Patti Smith wrote:Lou Reed wrote this song for a Swedish boy he once knew. (Concerthouse, Stockholm, Sweden / Oct. 3, 1976)

Hey Arjan, why in the world did you change "writ" to "wrote" in the second quote? I can tell you one thing--she definitely says "writ" (she's notorious for using the archaic I think)--I have the bootleg--"I Never Talked To Bob Dylan", or, as I, for some reason like to call it, "I Never Slept With Bob Dylan".
