Lovely shot, Taxine. So rare to see Warhol and related images in dreamy colour. Easy to end up thinking the 60s all happened in black and white.
But I didn't read dial4's post as a statement of fact, I just read it as expressing an opinion - isn't that what forums such as this are for?
Of course, but if they're not worded as such then they imply superior taste:
1974 was his last magical mystery tour, after that despite Doug playing in 1975 (with the unbearable saxophone), it was a nightmare to listen to and to watch at it. He wasn't there anymore.
for instance, suggesting that if you (or you, or you) prefer his 1978 incarnation (or 1985, or 1995) then you are wrong.
Well it's not only my (poor, of course, I only heard about him in 1972) opinion, there are many facts proving my assertions. From artistic point of view, sales figures, critics and fans, press and so on.
But anybody can prefer listen to post-1974 discs and concerts, even tell that he was better solo than with the Velvets.
But to me after that it wasn't so interesting, playing, singing, songwriting, unimaginative production : even in his interviews he seems so bored... At my sense it was because after so many years in the studio or on the road he didn't get the success he deserves.

Always loved these kinda pictures, just focussed in casual events, many times says more than the usually "pretty cool picture indeed"
nice upgrade BTW !!
But there are no stars in New York sky, they're all on the ground. This is the place where she lay her head when she went to bed at night....

statement of fact is still just opinion. see?
and if a forum can make you feel wrong, i don't wanna feel right.
being right is overrated. i wanna be wrong.
like iggy says; "now i wanna, be your wrong!"
*dextrorotory components synthesis of sympathomimetic musics (contains the equivalent of two complete stereo records)
Awesome superstars portraits in vivid colour, funny how Ari don't lose any detail....the imagine of Gerrald printin' the fragile brand over Nico's costume is so pop and amazing.
Too lazy for search the sources !!

Somebody should collect all the existing photos (including the ones you guys have posted) and made them into one huge Velvet Underground photo album. That would be something I'd happily pay for

Love those 2 photos at Rutger's. Tantalising as we will never know that the Rutger's gig sounded like. But we do now know that Warhol filmed the Rutger's gig.
