Seeing Lou in fancy dress is always going to work!

I wish we had a recording of this line-up.

I think Gerard Malanga found a box full of tapes in the bottom of a cupboard at the Maclise's home. I wonder if they included any early VU gigs?

I guess these were the ones donated to Yale by Hetty MacLise. Includes 1965 so a faint possibility.... The archive is available for research but restricted. Two feet of tapes over the width of two boxes. Could be twenty reels?

The Angus MacLise Sound Recordings document selected musical work of Angus MacLise. The sound recordings are 5 and 7.5 inch reel-to-reel audio tapes that consist of experimental music composed and performed by MacLise in solo performances and in collaboration with other musicians and artists. The recordings span the years 1965 to 1978.

Chelsea Hotel. German footage 1970

Post by iaredatsun »

No VU here, but Candy Darling near the end. Patti Smith, Mappelthorpe, Harry Smith and others in their rooms. German documentary. Lovely colour footage and some amazing characters.
