The line you have as 'I get it on, like I just said it' I've been hearing as 'I get it on, I get it steady.'

For me cover versions of the VU's songs are almost universally disappointing, his are amazing, and his explanations as to what he does also shows where so many go wrong. Firstly - Moe Tucker's drumming was indeed a key part of almost every track, and secondly, Lou Reed and to an extent Sterling too played with unusual turnings to their guitars which also changed the sound of those instruments.
