Re: Squeeze Test Press has Additional Song
The record is at a store in Los Angeles named CD Trader. I spoke to them and they do not yet know what the price of the record will be. You can call them at 818-705-3544

Maybe it was intended to be released in the States but got pulled?mangue wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022 21:15 Well I'm not familiar with testpressings nor Squeeze, but afaik Squeeze was recorded in the UK and only issued on vinyl in UK/EU/JP [so not in the US!], and then almost 40 years after its recording a testpressing appears from a record plant in New Jersey...
Somebody can come up with a reasonable explanation for this?

Thanks again Fletcher. Well, I've emailed Doug on the address I had for him 15 years ago, sending the YouTube clip, and it doesn't seem to have bounced. Whether he still picks emails up at that address, who knows, but maybe we'll see...

Re: Squeeze Test Press has Additional Song
The musician Simon Love contacted Doug about the song and this is what he had to say:
“I do remember the song but not the exact title. It was probably recorded and then left off the album. Possibly when someone was researching what masters were owned when the company was acquired, a pressing was ordered and they included everything on the master tape.
Not one of my favorite songs.”
So the record is possibly not a normal test pressing but a one-off for someone at the record label

Thanks for posting this (and thanks Simon for getting Doug's comments). Not that it tells us much!

Re: Squeeze Test Press has Additional Song
I've also now heard from Doug:
"Hi, Mark. I really don’t have any information about that particular cut. It is of the same vintage as the rest of the material on Squeeze so it might have been recorded then although I don’t specifically recall doing that. The only one who would know why it wasn’t release if it was recorded would be Steve Sesnick and I haven’t talked to him for many years."
