Gave "Duece Coupe" a listen and I think it kind of sounds like Lou, but he's so far in the background it's hard to tell.

What does anybody else think? :?:

i was monitoring the album at my-ebay, but honestly thought that was another one from pickwick with no real lou involvement.
thanks to the link provided we can have a listen to these songs (after a quick pass "little deuce" seems to be lou, wow!!)

regarding the quality complaints, i have to say that some people in this forum seems to me "hi-thech spoiled" . listen to the music. that´s the real thing.
i really miss the days when took a month for me to get a mail order with a couple of cassettes from the VUAS with Live´66 and the demos!
I just clicked on a link and 5 minutes later I had the LP on my hard disk (cover included!) That´s magic

Thanks, arjan. I knew there were some rational people out there. Ya know that expression, "Never look a gift horse in the mouth?" Well, that is exactly what I see people doing here. Some dude is running a fantastic blog (thanks for telling us about it!), where he posts hundreds of songs for all of us to listen to and all people can do is bitch and gripe about flac/shn/kbps...

The blogger probably spends A LOT of money collecting those records, let alone taking the time to transfer them all. Why should he give them away in pristine form? He is letting the world sample anything they want from his collection. Instead of whining and complaining here, maybe you should contact the guy directly?

There is another fantastic site at http://www.strangereaction.com (he is currently upgrading the site), and that dude converts hundreds of punk/hardcore LP's/7"s and singles into MP3 for the world to share. I won an LP in one of his contests! Who would be dick enough to complain to him about the format of the songs?

These people put a lot of time and effort into sharing things they love, and to nitpick and insult them, calling their efforts a "waste," is really annoying. Instead of doing it here, go and take it to the source. How very American to bitch and moan in the dark, rather than confront the source of your irritation. I am sure these bloggers would love to hear the gripes.

Someone should write to Rosie Lee and let her know her MP4's were a "waste," and to not bother ever posting stuff again.
Totally. As the saying goes, "192 is good enough for YOU!"

The only thing that angers me is that I don't understand WHY people convert to MP3 in the first place (with the exception of ipodS and MP3/DVD CDs for personal use).

If this "angers" you, then YOU have a very big problem. Get some help!
There's too much going on around the world to be angered by somone who encode to mp3 or other lossy formats and then post it on the net.

Be thankful for what you get for free...

Let me just clarify one thing:
GroovyMusic wrote:I hate how all those damn bloggers encode to MP3! What a waste!
That comment wasn't supposed to be interpreted as angry, it was meant to be interpreted as annoyance - it was meant to be taken lightly.

The online communities for bootlegs of popular music have strict lossless standards, and yet all the blogs that specialize in esoteric music have nothing but MP3s.

If that album was lossless it would have only taken 10-15...is that such a big deal?

Stop moaning, they're GIFTS. You're sounding like a spoiled brat here (sorry if that sounds too harsh, but you lot make me feel so tired). Bloggers are providing you with music FOR FREE, no trade needed.

They do it for love of the music (and a bit of recognition/eyeball for the blog) and presumably they have to deal with storage constraints, too. S/he's not part of the bootleg trader scene (not in their capacity as blogger, anyway), so why judge them by those standards?
