Bill Levenson from Universal said (in 2003)

"FYI #1 - The Matrix tapes are probably not going to happen - the owner of the tapes withdrew his offer to license them to us, which is too bad because they were very impressive!"

thanks Simon,

I've already got them thanks to Candy and was going to spread the love to other folk who can't use rapidshare via yousendit, but it would've had to wait until I got home.

I was thinking, pessimistically, of that Levenson email when I was listening to the tracks last night. I hope that there's some way of working it out with all parties, but I won't be holding my breath. It seems ridiculous that material of this quality is to remain unheard.

How thoughtful of you (no sarcasm)!

Although converting is easy as pie:

You can also burn FLAC files directly to CD with Nero, so there's no need to convert.

Thank you SO much Sal! The VU community is scraping and scratching to get ANYTHING new. I mean, people are still bootlegging the damn Valleydale Ballroom show!

It's always fun to get something new and unheard into the community. The two Reed shows from Germany I just transferred and posted on Dime caused a lot of excitement, and I was happy to do the work. It's all about the music!!

A real pleasure to re-open this thread and to find these gems available for upload.

My parents told me it was poor manners to ask for more, upon receiving an unexpected gift. Sal, you're a gentleman. Thank you for what you've given already.

And this comment was just plain hilarious! LOL !

gives you a sweet taste
then you got to split
because he's got no
