For people living in the US, it's definitely out now. A friend of mine who works in a record store told me they had it in over the weekend (last time I listen to Europeans on the internet.) Anyway, watched it last night and kept on getting interrupted so I probably couldn't quote you on anything, but generally:
-There's an interview with Norman "Acetate" Dolph (who has an impressive head of hair) and he gives a lot of information about the recording of the original acetate and how it got passed over by several labels, and in the DVD extras talks about how moving around eventually lead to its disappearance and reappearance. For hard core fans this is probably the most informative, interesting part. He seems to have a good memory about what went on in the studio.
-Sal Mercuri's in it!
-Other than the acetate stuff, not tons of new info, just a little bit of a different perspective on things. Moe and Doug are interviewed, which is cool (Moe 4 eva) and do most of their reflecting on the recording of the lost album, gray album and Loaded. (Moe said about Lou's leaving the band something along the lines of she didn't ask because he would have told her if he wanted her to know. Mystery solved?)
-There's barely any mention of Sterling Morrison, which sucked.
-Visually, all the usual things, like a little bit of screen test at the begining, Bataclan, Paraphanalia, the Chicago show, etc etc. Neat "loaded" recording stills and a few shots from Doug Yules "69 on the road" book, very cool. At one point the former manager of the Boston Tea Party points out its former building, which is still standing and is a huge, gorgeous stone structure with some symbols reminiscent of its former days as a synagoge. Very neat. I want to go to Boston and check it out now.
-I'll be a huge bitch and say it looks like someone made it on iMovies.
All and all, I'd say it's definitely worth getting, for the Dolph stuff and the Maureen and Doug interviews.
