Hey I have a question for you all who own this.
I've been thinking of ordering it but I'll sell my old VU CDs for some extra cash to buy this with. Now I'm just wondering, is it worth the price that its at. I noticed it has tons of unreleased material that I can't get anywhere else plus the albums. I own all the studio albums and Max's Kansas City release. I'm just wondering if I should bother picking this up or asking other VU fans if they could possibly send me some of the songs on the collection that I want.

You seem to be a new convert to the world of the VU in which case I'd say there is no better place to start than the box set with its great collection of music (including most but not all of what you'll need) and fantastic booklet (with a good run through of the band's history and great photos).
Go for it.
Go for it.
I just picked up mine on ePay for $25. Why sell all of your other discs? You can grab the set cheap if you have patience.

I recommend you keep the single CDs because sometimes you just want to hear the album, nothing more... I'm that way with the 3rd album, it's a cohesive unit, I want it to start and end the way it's supposed to start and end. Although it is true that you could program that from the disk, or just make a new disk leaving out the extras, in practice I would never bother, and just listen to something else.
