Oh, yeah. We have some seriously different viewpoints, since I think the last time Lou showed any creative tendencies was, um, 1968 ("Funky Hot Hips" notwithstanding)
In your examples, it's rock-tinged-with-jazz, rock-tinged-with-spoken word, rock-tinged-with...etc. -- the point I was making is that, with Cale, you never know whether you're going to get a rock album, a classical piano album or what... Lou has never put out a non-rock and roll album (and "Metal Machine Music" doesn't count, since it's nothing more than an overblown rip-off of Cale's "Loop").
But it's not my intention to turn this into a Lou vs. John thread. I like some Lou records as well (yes, including "Sally Can't Dance") - obviously, though, I'm far more of a Cale fan.
