Booker T live

Post by Kill Mick »

Has anybody heard the full length version of Booker T from the Gymnasium in 67, as on Cale's Paris S'eville CD EP? Anything interesting in the first 9 seconds? Anybody know why they were edited out on PSAS?

Nothing interesting in those few seconds, just more of the same. Have no clue why they cut them. The EP version also cuts in with the performance already in progress, so I don't know if the full performance was not recorded or if this version just picked a slightly different place to start. The mastering is a bit different as well. I prefer the Peel version, but the EP is probably more true to the original tape sound. There's static that comes in with the louder parts, it's all over the guitar solo. I'm listening on headphones, so I don't know how noticable the static is on normal listening. The box version pretty much takes care of this problem, but also cuts out some of the highs. Still, I find it to be a more even, pleasant sound. So no, anyone w/o the EP version aren't really missing anything (assuming you have the box version).

I´m missing this EP. Seen it a few times out there but always too expensive. Is not that easy to find. Any sellers around?

I could burn it and post it to you free if you don't mind CD-R. As for the original, yeah pretty rare but I think it crops up on Ebay from time to time

Yes, I have seen it couple of times in the past few years. But sometimes you need to search on description basis, and vu as become with more and more items and the list is too long.

Send me a private message with your proposal for this cd-r...
Thanks
