I could maybe put the full transcript up somewhere, but I'd have to check with Mojo first! In any event, i'm sure they'd want me to leave it till after the magazine has been out for a good while.

Oh, I understand.

It doesn't really surprise me that Lou would be in contact w/ Doug. I assume Doug holds partial rights to some material? Perhaps Doug has tapes that may one day make it to the marketplace?

I'm also curious if Doug knows about this site or even cares. C'mon Mark...enlighten us!

AFAIK, he does and they already have -- witness FInal V.U., which I believe came straight from the Doug Yule Archives. As for pre-Lou-split, I wouldn't be surprised if he had, but then they would be at Universal's by now: I remember Maureen solliciting live tapes too on her website for inclusion in the Bootleg Series.

Well done, Mr Sturdy! Read your piece today (excellent value issue of MOJO as well with a Bo Diddley interview, a John Cale review and a Chess CD :D). Shame you did not have more space as Doug always makes for an interesting read IM(H)O.

I really don't know. My hunch would be that he maybe has one or two things, but probably nothing mindblowing. If he had, I'm sure he would have been prevailed on for copies during the production of PSAS, Fully Loaded, etc.

For what it's worth, the Final VU set was mastered from widely circulated bootleg tapes.

He does kind of know about it, but he's not a visitor. Sal told him about the results of the 'When did the Velvets end?' poll a few months back. He was particularly amused by the people who said the Velvets ended when John left, meaning that he was therefore never in the group!

 I'm glad to hear that. Come to think of it I'd be surprised if all of them hadn't checked the forum out once or twice out of curiosity.

Finally read the piece today. It was good. I was expecting some new revelations but it was nice anyway.
