Doug interview in this month's Mojo

Post by Mark »

See the new edition of Mojo for a 'Hello...Goodbye' interview with Doug Yule, talking about his first and last days with the Velvets. Also some cool previously unseen photos - one of the Popsie studio shots from 1969 and a very rare one of one of the later Yule-led band lineups.

Ah yes, sorry - just to clarify, the issue is out now in the UK. I don't know about any other territories, but presumably it'll take a little longer.

Sars - Doug was very nice, I liked him a lot. Quiet, but very insightful, friendly and co-operative (even stretching as far as answering a few extra questions by email after the main interview had been done). The interview had to be edited for length in the end, so there are a few interesting snippets that didn't make the final cut... like the fact that Lou and Doug were in fairly regular contact by email only a few years ago.
