OK, a bit lame/uninspired, but bear with me...

Nah, I was just boredsimonm wrote:is this some kind of supplement to the favourite songs poll that you are going to calibrate with the albums, Arjan? Sounds a bit ambitious!
But I have been thinking of other, shorter, ideally 'fairer' ways of performing a similar poll. Other ways of getting there, perhaps album-based and so concering specific takes of songs. Any suggestions?
I like polls, in fact I'm a sucker for them. And I like the positive impulse they give on people expressing their feelings for VU songs
>Any suggestions?
Dunno.
Positive expression about individual songs is definitely good for the forum rather than torrent notifications that I can't use, but polls kind of de-individualise things I think.
Sister Ray is my favourite song because of the oroginal studio Sister Ray, but I enjoy most of the live versions too. WL/WH is my favourite LP mainly because of SR, but I prefer Live 1969 to the Quine tapes even though the latter has 3 x SR...
On a busy Todd Rundgren forum they have regular threads like 'Thoughts on 1st LP' where people just unload all their associations etc of the record in question. I don't like to analyse lyrics much but open threads like 'Thoughts on Sister Ray' (or any other track) could be good to get people to write stuff and discuss things more. 'On Sister Ray' would be a better name - see new thread!
