I have finally hit the point (against my will, unfortunately) where I don't find it necessary to buy every single new Velvets release. sigh!

I appreciated the RSD 2012 release, and bought it, but this is really milking it. I'll be sitting this one out.
Instead of re-hashing this, I really wish they would do a vinyl box of the 45th anniversary "deluxe edition" CD set. I guess that would probably take in the neighborhood of 10 to 12 LPs to get the whole 6-CD set on wax, and therefore would probably retail in the $200 to $300 range. But I'd pay it.
What I really wish UMe would do is put out some "deluxe editions" of WL/WH and the 3rd album. WL/WH could have stereo and mono, for starters. Then they could include the 1967 Ludlow Street demos, the full Gymnasium show for some live material, the "Swan Mix" versions of "Sister Ray" and "Lady Godiva's Operation" for some alternate mixes.
The 3rd album is a natural for at least a 2-CD set, with the Valentin and Closet mixes each getting their own disc. Extras could include the single edit of "What Goes On", the Sterling Morrison acetate with different versions/mixes of many of the 3rd album songs, and maybe, just maybe, some of the soundboard tapes from the Matrix.
And that's just stuff we know is out there. There are surely still some surprises to be found in the vaults too.
