I find this website to be pretty interesting in general.
Lou Reed's Rachel
Re: Lou Reed's Rachel
Thanks a lot for that. I have been posting a bunch of Rachel pics on my tumblr. Being gay in NYC in the late 70s was soon to become a dangerous lifestyle. Sadly, my first, uneducated guess would be AIDS took her early in the 80s, which is why we have never heard anything about her.

Re: Lou Reed's Rachel
thanks - that was really interesting. I had never seen that colour pic of the happy couple walking their dogs (or the last one with Rachel looking even grimmer than usual). I had also forgotten that his/her name was really Tommy!
I have more pics of Rachel - I'll try to scan them and post them here

Thanks for the link - very interesting post. I like the colour pic with Lou, Rachel and the dogs too never seen it before. Is this quite a late pic? It has much more of late 70s feel to it than mid.
Re: Lou Reed's Rachel
I agree late 77 or 78? - looks as if it's from a far-eastern magazine. Could be wrong though.
The colour on-stage photos were both taken in May 1977, and the "cake" pic was taken at their 3rd anniversary party in London April 77 (by Jill Farmanowsky). The 2 Mick Rock shots are (I would say) from the Coney Island Baby cover session.
Anyone have the issue of "Penthouse" mentioned in the article? Maybe it's the same photos/interview/article which was published in "National Screw" in July 77 - in it Rachel is described as "a hairdresser from Philadelphia".

Re: Lou Reed's Rachel
I have found a whole bunch of Rachel pics I've posted in the tumblr. As for this article, here are some guesses:
Top pic: Is Lund '77. Someone (on this forum?) posted them previously with that info.
Second pic: Mick Rock "Walk On The Wild Side" compilation LP photo shoot
Third pic (w/ Rachel on the left): I'd say '77, also. Lou has the same guitar strap as in the Lund '77 shots.
Pic with Japanese writing: Early - I'd say '75 (look at their hair); however, Lou got the dogs later didn't he...perhaps this is '78? Hmmm....
