Er oops, you're right, of course. I didn't mean to make the entry period that short!

Simon -- come back, you can still vote!

The (b) and (c) answers are used in that order to solve ties. If it's still a tie, lots once again will be drawn.

Please enter your post before Wednesday Feb. 23, 2005, 23:00 European Continental Time (=22:00 UK time, 17:00pm NY time). Entries or edits past 23:00 European Time will, unfortunately, be disqualified.
Am I missing something? I thought the most 'loyal' voters (i.e. those who have voted in every match) were to have a shot at the book?

Yes, that's true. But see this post at the start of the Second Round. Basically, the original criteria proved impossible for technical reasons/I hadn't paid attention to updates in the forum (in place since ages ) that did not allow for this anymore. So new winning criteria had to be determined. I ran a poll with that post to let the voters decide what the winning criteria should be, and this is the implementation of the outcome.

I know it must be something of a disappointment to the 10+ hardcore voters present since the preliminaries, but it also gives people who tuned in later (a sizeable chunk) a new opportunity to have a shot at winning the prize.

Not sure I want to win (got the book, bought it 20 years ago)

Question is what tracks is going to compete in the upcoming round.

I do believe Sister Ray is a super candidate as a winner, so here is my guess:

65%
Sister Ray

just for the sake of it: a song of the first album has to win, and not sister ray!

so

58%

waiting for the man

in front of

heroin

part of me agrees with dalk and part of me doesn't. SR is my all time favorite VU song - but it really isn't one song. each version was very different from the other. you never knew what you'd get. would it be a relatively short but blistering 10 minutes or would it be more subdued and lyrical and go on for 30-40 minutes?

so... would the votes go to the whole SR grouping or to one version? it could make a difference to somebody.

You get to think of your favorite version of the song. So not just the album version.
