Cole Ave setlist clarification

Post by tarbaby2 »

I hope this isn't too long, but I need some help here...

I downloaded an 84 minute RealMedia file of the 10/19/69 concert at Cole Ave from http://server.vandervlis.nl/henry/ban/banlinks.htm (now dead) and wonder if anyone can clear up a question for me?

The listing for this date on the Landemaine site says that this set was 15 songs long and ended up with a Sister Ray that fades out after a little over 13 minutes.

Well, this file that I downloaded follows the track listing exactly except for the fact that Sister Ray is over 17 minutes long and does NOT fade out. It ends with Lou saying "Thank you very much and good night." with a little bit of audience clapping.

The version of Sister Ray in this file starts off in a very lilting manner with mostly organ, bass and drums and then works into a meatier, more guitar edged (not to say much louder) ending.

So, do I have the right version of the song for this date or what?

The 17:47 Sister Ray is from the 10/18/69 concert. Track 1-14 is from 10/19/69 concert. That would equal the fisrt 15 tracks of the 2CD Live at End Cole Ave. Th ramining 3 on that CD is from the Afterhours set

Yeah, I guess the file I downloaded is just one big RealMedia file of the Live at End Cole Ave. CD - So, does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of the faded out version from the October 19, 1969 show?

Track 10 of A True Rock'n'Roll is from 10/19/69 according to another thread in this forum, and Yes, it fades out at 13:03.

I have it up on Soulseek (mp3 128 kB) if You are desperate
