I went with OOTD as the other one will walk away with this BUT I love that outro....what was it they called it on 'Etc'? A 'Rave-Up'? Good one though!

Yep and what a fine job he does on it! Let's not forget he also played the solos on "What Goes On" and "Rock And Roll", ie. the two best guitar solos on any VU recordings...arjan wrote:I'm sure it will appal purists but does everybody realise the outro bottleneck guitar was played by Doug?jimjim wrote:I went with OOTD as the other one will walk away with this BUT I love that outro....what was it they called it on 'Etc'? I went with "One Of These Days", always loved it. I get the feeling lots of newer fans maybe (?) vote for all the more "extreme" songs, or maybe the older fans feel like the "have to" vote for the classic ones, but I'd much rather listen to OOTD than "...Call My Name" right now. But then WL/WH is also my least fave VU studio album!
Whoa, don't go overboard there! Doug suggested the PRODUCTION of the WGO solo, i.e. play 'em all together, but it is Lou who plays the actual solos! And Rock and Roll, I always figured he played the clean "break lick", but does he also do the "wild" soloing?Homme Fatale wrote:Let's not forget he also played the solos on "What Goes On" and "Rock And Roll", ie. the two best guitar solos on any VU recordings...
