how many versions of sister ray

Post by tarbaby2 »

sister ray is my favorite and i was wondering if anyone knows just how many different versions of it are available. i am trying to get copies of all i can. i really like the way that each version seems to be so unique -almost as if it was new each time they played it. including the three on the Quine Tapes i think i already have about 8 different ones. so, has anyone out there ever counted them?

this is an excellent idea. if you can do it, i'm sending you 50 blank cds.

:D

i bet olivier's site would have them all listed, right?

Probably the easiest way to go about finding a total is to hit Olivier's site, go to the live gigs pages and count 'em up year by year. There's a notation by each gig for which a recording is in circulation. If you've already got eight, I think there can't be that many more. A dozen maybe?

PLEASE, nobody send me anything right now. My computer is a dog and I can't do much of anything until I can get a new one.

I forgot a Quine SR. Unique cos instead of Murder Mystery it goes into Foggy Notion..

Nov 11 1969 - SR/Foggy Notion (28.43) - Washington Uni - Quine Tapes

Isn't Heroin/Sister Ray on The Legendary Amp Tapes?

(and there's the Some Kinda Love/Sister Ray medley on Lou Reed live in Italy, but I guess that doesn't count)

Sorta off topic, but I like New Order's BBC session cover; moreso than even the Joy Division cover.
