Too bad the site's in Italian as it looks pretty cool, but anyway, check out the "Galleria Foto" - some great not-so-often seen pics in there.

Is Lou giving her bunny ears or saying peace? lol
John Cale is perhaps the most photogenic person I have ever seen. In every picture he's in, he always stands out. My eyes are always drawn to him; it's almost amazing. He always displaces himself in photos.

I saw those in the Rock And Roll Heart documentary but never in print although those look like they were scanned from a book - you can see the middle of the spread in this one. Also this has to be the coolest photo of Sterl ever! 8)bleach wrote:There are 3 pics from the first (?) VU photo shoot with Angus, John, Lou & Sterl that I have never seen before in any publication / website etc. One of them on the roof with Lou in 'arab' headwear is always printed but the others from the same shoot are new to me.Check them out now!!
This one I had seen before, it's from POPism.Cameo Role wrote:http://www.loureed.it/foto/VelvetUnderg ... 966-05.jpg

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who hadn't seen some of these...
I almost feel stoned just from looking at this photo:

Wow, thanks for posting this link, Homme Fatale! I've been collecting VU/LR images for ages and have not seen several of these.

I love that loureed.it site. the gal who does it is really thourough.
Another good place to find some unusual VU images is the Nico group on yahoogroups. You need to join, but they've got some kind of obscure images and screencaps on there. In December, I was in a used bookstore in Utah when I found a book about Warhol I had never seen before. It had a really thick, heavy book, the first part being images of Warhol prints, and the second and third parts being various factory photos by Nat Finkelstein and Billy Name, including some of the Velvets and Nico. A lot of unusual Nico photos, but I had seen all of the other Velvets one before. I didn't buy it, because I thought fifty bucks was a little steep to pay for a used book that was kind of falling apart. BTW, Finkelstein and Name both have websites with galleries up: http://www.natfinkelstein.com/ and http://www.billyname.com/

Thanks for the tip about the Nico yahoogroup, sars. I think I know the name of the book you are referring to - maybe the Warhol Look. That one's got some fabulous photos. Barnes and Noble was deep discounting new copies in-store recently, but your best bet online for a good new or used copy is amazon.com. And yeah, Nat Finkelstein and Billy Name have great sites, but I prefer Billy Name and Stephen Shore's Velvets photos overall. Both of them have done fine books including lots of Velvets photos. Also, if anyone has not seen it yet, mickrock.com has some awesome photography. 8)
