Bought a VU dvd off Ebay
It was a compilation I hadn't seen before... It has Bataclan, Symphony of Sound, South Bank, Moe in Bondage, Psychiatrist's convention.... fun stuff. It will take about three weeks to ship from Luxenborg. I'll give the full report after I watch it.

Yes Good tape, I guess it makes sence It would be on DVD now, The moe in bondage is a sort of Screen test the velvets did themselves (warhol style), The best part of the tape is Symphony of sound by far, really cool to see them all together for such a long clip.

Am I right in thinking nobody's ever booted all the available Velvets footage into a single, essential, comprehensive DVD set?

Well, it's time to confess something here. As moderator of jimjims, I had planned to create a DVD of all available VU footage onto one DVD but...I've been beset by endless problems and these have not been helped by my copy of 'Curious' going AWOL during redecoration of the house.Chance wrote:Am I right in thinking nobody's ever booted all the available Velvets footage into a single, essential, comprehensive DVD set?
Had I done it, I think the quality would have been much rougher than what should have been expected given that the sources were all VCDs. I've heard the compo DVDs on E-bay are great quality, so I can't possibly compete with that.
NB: There is only one problem with the Bataclan footage I have and its the sound - its totally overloaded and echoey. Its almost spoils the experience until you realise this footage is incredibly historic. Oh and the interviews with French hippies also interrupt throughout.
