I reckon "praise ye the lord' LP might have been re-issued/re-pressed recently as my 80s original doesn't have a title on the front sleeve. I've just contacted the seller to ask him whether its a new pressing. It could have easily been bootlegged from the Professor Tape sources.velvetfan wrote:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... Praise Ye The Lord vinyl didn't even get a bid at $26.99, but.....

Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items
Aha! Well we have an explanation for the seemingly unending amounts of Praise Ye The Lord vinyl on eBay:
from Olivers site:
PRAISE YE THE LORD
VU 714, USA, 2011
Side 1: 1. Head Held High (3:14) / 2. I'm Set Free (4:19) / 3. Run Run Run (7:30) / 4. Candy Says (3:58).
Side 2: 5. That's The Story Of My Life (2:10) / 6. Train Round The Bend / Oh! Sweet Nuthin' (16:27).
Sources: 1, 6 : 2nd Fret, Philadelphia, May 1970 / 2, 3 : Boston Tea Party, 10/1/69 / 4 : Boston Tea Party, 12/12/68 / 5 : Boston Tea Party, 13/3/69.
Notes: reissue of the 1988 original bootleg.
It also explains some of the price variations too. Of course prices do jump up and down on many VU items, but this is pretty obvious. I thought the image on some of the items looked off; the reissue has the title on the front where the original does not. The world makes a bit more sense today.

OK, here is a copy of the Drella bootleg LP on eBay and it's $260.00 so far! He also says in the description that it is a repressing of the original boot LP. As far as I know, there was only the original pressing. $260.00 seems high for an original, much less a repressing? comments??

The VERY RARE The Velvet Underground On MGM/Verve 1967 Sampler LP that I "back-doored" from the seller for $100 a few months back. Now that there is another one on eBay (only the second I have ever seen) I will see how good a deal I got?

Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items
I offered the $100 because I had never seen that item and it was a glaring omission from my collection. I wanted it BAD and the seller accepted my offer. I'm curious to see how high the other copy sells for.calaminehello wrote:sorry for being off topic, but i would not have buttfucked him for $100.
Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items
There is nothing wrong with that transaction- seller could have refused your offer, which happens more often than not. You were happy with your offer, seller was as well. What's the problem with a simple transaction like that? If you want to take someone to task for "buttf*cking", go after Feebay and Paypal (which is owned by eBay) for the exhorbitant fees they now charge the sellers...velvetfan wrote:I offered the $100 because I had never seen that item and it was a glaring omission from my collection. Buttfucking is highly underrated. Anyways here is an image:calaminehello wrote:sorry for being off topic, but i would not have buttfucked him for $100.

I think I love that so much because the model has some of the sexiest eyes I have ever seen.MJG196 wrote:Buttfucking is highly underrated. Anyways here is an image:calaminehello wrote:sorry for being off topic, but i would not have buttfucked him for $100.

Wow. Can't say I'm much of a fan of the morphine aesthetic, myself. ie. the 'Pinned' eyes lookvelvetfan wrote:
