It's eBay. If you only knew how many private deals happen and the item taken down you'd be amazed. Offering a wad of cash can be very tempting, especially when the seller has no real idea of the value of an item.

I know, If you remember, I posted feeling a bit guilty when I "sniped" the JUNE SAMPLER - MGM & Verve from a seller for $100! I had NEVER seen that one and I made a stab at a "side-deal" and he bit.

Above is a link to an eBay seller with tons of VU bootlegs for sale. Click the link, then look at "sellers other items" Must be somebody like me selling their collection. Final prices may help me make up my mind whether to sell now or when (and if) economy ever gets better.

Actually, a snipe is when you drop a bid in the last 5 seconds of an auction's ending time.

Beat me up why don't you bob. :? I know what a snipe is, I do it all the time but I didn't have a good word to describe what I did so I used snipe. Cheated, sounded too harsh. Peace my friend.

Hey Velvetfan, chill- I was not taking you to task, believe me.. as I have stated, I am a seller on eBay, usually of non-VU stuff, just trying to set the record straight, if you'd like to know what I was referring to, making an offer on an item before it has ended is called "back-dooring". I am casting no aspersions, believe me. It is what it is, as they say. Sharing the love my brother. :)

Back-dooring! That is a perfect term. I appreciate the info. BTW, I don't think you were taking me to task. We have commented back and forth for years. I added smilies to help with the translation (for others reading). We are fine my friend, and I really am glad to have the correct term. I couldn't come up with a word I was happy with. Have a great day. 8-)

There are a million ways to circumvent ePay "official" rules, and if you ask me (which I know y'all didn't!), everything is fair game! Sniping, behind-the-scenes offers, etc...I've at least tried it all!
