I like the first Modern Lovers album. "I'm Straight" is such a good song.

Oh, and though it doesn't pertain to the VU, don't forget Husker Du and the Minutemen and their nonconcrete connection but somehow still connected.

OK... I take it all back about the "secret connection". I just thought it was an arbitrary coincidence that so many people are into all three of those bands. I know they have real relations to each other, but it still seemed... arbitrary. The three are all so unique that, in a lot of areas, only actual trivia can group them together. It's not a big deal though. I take it back.

I don't think anybody was being hostile, I for one find lots of these coincidences quite cool.

Oh, I forgot to mention the Joy Division/Stooges connection: Curtis loved Iggy, he had "The Idiot" playing when he died. When his wife found him the next morning, the record was still spinning on the turntable.
"For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks; the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation." - Rainer Maria Rilke

 I don't know how that slipped my mind.
Oh, another connection: the face with its eyes bugging out right there looks kind of like Ian Curtis.

Oops! That is a quite a coincidence! :? Looks like stevesays had the name first though. Let me know if you want to change your name and keep your post count (I think I can change it). Send me a PM with your name... or if the similarity doesn't bother you then never mind.

I don't know if he cares, but I don't. I find it pretty amusing.
