as a Records Store Day-only product, it should only be available on April 16th, 2011. Also, they use their Facebook page to announce future projects, so it's not on their website yet. Thing is, maybe they're working on a "3rd album" collection of sorts, with vintage mixes... First came the singles box, then the Quine tapes, now this new 7"... Fingers crossed.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Would they still be still be making mono mixes in the latter half of 1969?

Chris, in the past we've been discussing Sundazed's policy of finding 'vintage' mixes which some found suspicious (e.g. the Byrds' box set) elsewhere. I bet this is the case again, I don't really think these are vintage mono mixes, but the good thing is they might have the multitracks in their hands... and anyway who knows, maybe they will release a proper 'third album' with better sounding mixes...

The first Foggy Notion version on bootleg EP was mono. I don't know whether the reason for that has ever been discussed. I'm pretty sure story was that the single was taken from an acetate held by one band member via a cassette copy. Then that acetate version turned up in stereo. I'm sure someone here knows that facts better than I , though.

How will non USA dwellers ever get a copy. Does anyone know whether these things end up for sale on their site?

Doc. Are you implying that what we have today are not original mixes of the two available versions of the 3rd LP?

I'll be interested in this if it's either a 1969 mix of I Can't Stand It, or even a new one that's more sympathetic to the sound of the band (ie no silly '80s reverb). If, as seems likely, it's just a fold of the VU stereo mix, forget it!
