Page 47 Jim De Rogatis´book (nice book, isn´t it?)
There are two color shots of the VU at Delmonico´s on this page. On the top pic, Nico is singing on the microphone. Someone (wearing a blue shirt with cuff link) is holding a hand mike recording her voice.
The pic on the top shows them playing Venus In Furs. Lou is singing on the mike and now we can see a lady (?) stanging in fron of Lou holding something up - supossedly a mike (same blue shirt with the cuff link).
Who is this person recording the show? No tape has surfaced of the VU playing at Delmonico´s so far

When New York Art comes out in a few weeks you will see one of the most infuriatingly frustrating VU photos ever. Barbara Rubin is seen filming the band at Cafe Bizarre! Where oh where did her archives end up?

Re: Who is recording the VU at Delmonoico´s?
I spoke with Chet Helms and he said the Family Dog/Avalon shows were
occasionally recorded. He told me was 'pretty sure some VU shows were
recorded.'
I asked him were are those tapes now (circa 1999/2000).
His respsonse was that the tapes must be mush now, though
he had an idea where they may be.
After I inquired further he informed me that he did not wish to
share anymore information with me.
Also I might add to buffet of droolable recordings:
The Jamie Klimeck tapes.

Re: Who is recording the VU at Delmonoico´s?
I could go on, but I will stop with these addtional longings:
I was told by that the professor had other recording from the Boston Tea Party,
including some additional VU shows....hmmm.
I did pursue some Austin shows of the VU in Oct 1969 and a person who
worked at the Vulcan Gas Co. said those recordings are GONE! (I still hope but whatever).
There is also a Seattle show from 1968/1969 that has been confirmed.
There is also indication that the VU were filmed sitting on a grassy knoll in Texas in late 1969
as is revealed in Doug Yule's On the Road Book.
I must stop now and cuddle with my son, bedtime.

Re: Who is recording the VU at Delmonoico´s?
I didn't know that there were any "unknown" professor recordings?
also I hadn't known that the existence of the "Seattle" soundboard had been confirmed? Has anyone any more (hard) info on this fabled item?
I've commented on the "Texas grassy knoll" pic before - does anyone know exactly which "festival" the VU were playing at when that photo was taken? Who is filming/interviewing Sterling?
