LOU AND LAURIE

Post by dixigas »

Saw Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson last week in Frankfurt. Only German Show! Artsy, but Halloween Parade and Pale Blue Eyes with Laurie on Viola where a secret highlight. Best PBE since forever and HP had a Drella feel rather than a New York. Really cool. Other than that, half the set was Laurie, and the other Lou songs sometimes mutilated till almost unrecognizable with echoes and stuff. I like my Lou straight up best me thinks or really crazy but not rehearsed crazy!

Is Lou taking a page from Dylan live where you sometimes can't recognize what song he is playing? Well at least it's more accessible than the recent Metal Machine trio or Master Ren Tai Chi soundtrack music or HUDSON RIVER WIND MEDITATIONS. It's rock & roll baby, I couldn't believe what I heard at all!

I liked Lou better when he was with Rachel.

Anybody ever know what happened to Rachel? Is she still alive? Did she die from cancer from a silicone tit?

HUDSON RIVER WIND MEDITATIONS is actually pretty good towards the middle

I like it fine, for what it is, as do I like MMM, but IT AIN'T ROCK & ROLL!
