An Illustrated History
of a Walk on the Wild Side
New book by Jim DeRogatis. just arrived from amazon pre-order today. Wow! It is beautiful. It is large like a coffee table book, with a cool 1/3 velvet strip that works like a velvet dust jacket but covers middle 3rd of book. Just did a quick page thru and not too many new photos but most are the best quality I have ever seen. Crisp clear photos that have previously been smaller and nowhere as crisp. There is a nice section on Live performances & rehearsals courtesy of our friend Oliver, a couple posters that I have never seen including a slightly different poster like the VU/Musselwhite poster for a show with the VU/Airplane/Beefheart at the Avalon. Albums, reviews and a few new treasures, to me a very neat copy of Lou's compositional manuscripts for Heroin and Venus. There is even a goofy sketch of the EPI at the Dom credited to Ingrid Superstar. It is a very nice luxurious book with some goodies, but over all another brilliant new tribute to the only band that ever mattered!
I got this book today. And visually this is really great (Hi Lara ). A lot of photos, at least 9 photos from the Cale line-up I´ve never seen before. And on some photos you see more than before. For example there´s a picture that was in a Velvet-Special from les inrckuptibles. There you saw just Sterling. Here you see next to him Lou and John.
But I think no new facts. But after Unterberger´s book that will be a difficult task.
Wow, my first post.

I paid for The VU WOTWS book 21.00 plus change. The price included shipping. I received
it today. I went to Borders yesterday to check out their copy. I noticed Border's
price is 30.00. This is in Portland Oregon.
