Thanks Alfredo. Can't remember seeing these before.

I love the picture of Gerard and Mary.

What is that in the first picture from The Trip? Looks like the 'wobble board' used by Rolf Harris! Did the VU invent that? Are we going to find a picture of John on the stylophone?

Why, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport"!! Rolf is an Aussie artist who had a big US hit with that record in 1960.

His Wiki is here-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolf_Harris

OMG. Was it that long ago. VU must have pinched it from him then.

Sorry Alfredo - just showing my age and poor sense of humour. But I can't believe you have never heard of Rolf Harris!

He played what he called a wobble board (amongst other things) which was just a sheet of card or thin wood that made a sound a bit like distant thunder when you bent it back and forwards rhythmicaly. Looks like the item in the photo with the light glinting off it - which is what made me wonder what on earth it was.

As far as I know John never played a stylophone and if he had I would probably not be a VU fan right now.

Hi ,the answer is in 'WL&WH day by day' excellent book .....Susan Pile and her boyfriend at the time were asked to join up at EPI.at Poor Richard´s Chicago as dancers, she said was a kinda hipnotic&intense thing as a drug, and they used 'tin foil' to change colour&power to the strobe and lights proyected on stage....
